Severe Weather

<empty>

The Forth Road Bridge can be affected by high winds from time to time. Radio bulletins, road signs and websites give details of which vehicles are restricted from crossing the bridge. A 'High sided Vehicle' restriction will not affect airdirect747.

On very rare occasions, the bridge may only be open to cars or be closed completely. In such situations, airdirect747 will be severely affected. If this does happen, airdirect 747 will run between Inverkeithing Station and Ferrytoll Park & Ride ONLY. Special connecting services (Services 53 & 55) will run from Ferrytoll via the Kincardine Bridge (further upstream) to the Airport. This can add 60-90 minutes onto the normal journey time.

Passengers travelling to/from Gogarburn, Gyle, Edinburgh Park, Sighthill and Riccarton will have a special shuttle bus link to the Airport for connection with the diverted 53 & 55 services.

For up to the minute traffic information during periods of high winds, contact FETA or Traffic Scotland or phone the Ferrytoll Supervisor on (01383) 420197.

For flight information during severe weather, contact Edinburgh Airport.
